Sports Massage: This massage can help athletes obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning by increasing power, endurance and mobility. The purpose of Sports massage is very specific. It is designed to prevent and treat sports injuries, relieve muscle pain, decrease soreness, increase flexibility and range of motion, increase circulation, and help athletes achieve peak performance. Sports massage techniques are utilized at all stages: pre-event, post-event, during training and to expedite rehabilitation after injury.
Medical Massage: Medical Massage differs from Swedish Massage and other bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to treat conditions diagnosed by a medical doctor. A variety of modalities or techniques are used during treatment, but the focus is on only the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis. The objectives of treatment are met over several visits instead of during just a one-hour treatment.
Deep Tissue Massage: This technique focuses on the deeper layers of muscle, releasing chronic muscle tension with slower strokes and direct pressure on problem areas; however, the term "deep" mostly refers more to its penetrating effects. Deep tissue is designed to relieve muscles of scarring and adhesions that cause pain and limited range of motion.
Pre-Natal Massage/Post-Natal Massage: Massage during pregnancy not only makes a woman feel pampered, but it offers undeniable physical benefits as well, including relieving fatigue, reduction of swelling, decrease in muscle soreness and spasms. Post-Natal Massage relieves the overstretched ligaments of the lumbar and lower back areas and can also help normalize hormone levels following childbirth.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD): MLD is a very unique therapy. It works to stimulate the Lymphatic System by speeding up fluid circulation, and bring nutrients and oxygen to cells throughout the body. MLD uses very gentle pressure and rhythmic movements to stimulate and increase lymph flow. MLD is most widely used in health conditions that require assistance in draining excess fluid buildup, water retention, and recovery from surgery. Lymphatic drainage is all about the flushing of your system, so it's very important to drink lots of water afterwards.
Myofascial Release: Myofascial release refers to the manual massage technique for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia and integument, muscles, and bones, with the goal of eliminating pain, increasing range of motion and balancing the body.
Cupping: Therapeutic cupping reaches deeper layers of body tissues with negative pressure. Cupping also increases circulation and tissue hydration while alleviating muscular tension in the body. Therapeutic cupping can be applied with gentle movement to affect the lymphatic system or deeper more specific applications to address fascia, musculature and neuromuscular trigger points. Cupping is beneficial for athletes and people of all activity levels and ages. While cupping marks may be produced, therapeutic benefits can occur without ever leaving a mark!
Kinesio Taping®: Kinesio Tape is a unique therapeutic method, which provides support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting range of motion or circulation. The Kinesio Taping method focuses on your body's own natural healing process. When correctly applied, Kinesio Tape can reduce pain and inflammation and help relax overused and tired muscles. This is not a restrictive tape, and it allows for full range of motion. Kinesio Tape is waterproof and can be left on the skin for up to five days.
